I am a psychotherapist with over 40 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families work through the blocks and threats to their functioning. I have a solo practice by appointment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

A lifetime of experience.

If you are over age 60, or dealing with family issues of illness, sex, finances, cognitive decline, or loss that come with aging, I have the clinical and life experience to give you a new approach and new options. After 40+ years and tens of thousands of hours of therapy time, nothing surprises me.

Helping you help yourself.

I work to empower my clients to tackle any issues in their lives that are holding them back. As family members grow older and the issues grow more difficult, cut-offs and feuds complicate the finding of solutions. I work with my clients to resolve problems in their relationships and to promote agreement and decision-making, by addressing the presenting problem and offering a plan for continued coping.

My training in psychotherapy and clinical social work is varied and extensive. I trained at the Ackerman Institute for Family Therapy and have worked at Jacobi Hospital, Greystone Psychiatric Hospital, the Dumont Mental Health Center, and a joint practice, before starting my solo practice on the Upper West Side.
